Starting from October 2022, all close protection license holders are required to possess a first aid qualification and complete new top-up training prior to renewal. The top-up qualification encompasses:
– Physical intervention skills
– Knowledge of door supervision responsibilities
– Terror threat awareness
Operatives must ensure that their first aid qualification is valid for at least one year before undertaking the top-up training. These new requirements aim to ensure that close protection operatives maintain the latest skills necessary to safeguard themselves, their clients, and the public effectively.
This course also includes the Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification, which is now mandatory for renewing your SIA license.
